Description |
---|
Information flow control regulates where information is allowed to travel within a network and between interconnected networks. The flow of all network traffic must be monitored and controlled so it does not introduce any unacceptable risk to the network infrastructure or data. Example: A router or firewall at the perimeter must only allow web traffic outbound received from a web proxy and directing all returning web traffic to the web proxy. Controlling the flow of information between interconnected networks is the functionality of the router, firewall, and/or switches. |
